How the EGO chainsaw range is organised
EGO is the simplest range in this catalogue to navigate, for one reason: there is only one battery platform. The database records CS2000 as running a 56V ARC Lithium pack, and every other EGO saw here is battery-powered on the same system. No corded model, no petrol model, and no second voltage to strand your packs on. Whichever saw you pick, the batteries carry across — which turns the whole decision into a question of size.
That decision is a straight ladder, and the model number is the rung. Seven saws span 30.48 cm to 50.8 cm of bar:

Chain pitch is 3/8" on all seven, so bars and chains follow a single standard across the range.
Where the data allows a comparison, the bigger saws are also the faster ones: 20 m/s on the 30.48 cm CS1200 and the 40.64 cm CS1610, 22 m/s on the 45.7 cm CS1810, 25 m/s on the 50.8 cm CS2000. Oil tank capacity steps the same way, 0.15 l on the 35.56 and 40.64 cm saws against 0.2 l on the 45.7 cm ones.

EGO's chainsaw designations are the most literal in this catalogue. CS2000 decodes in a single step.
CS is chainsaw. The first two digits are the bar length in inches. The remaining digits mark the variant. The stored data confirms it on every model without exception: CS1200 records a 30.48 cm bar, which is 12 inches; CS1400 35.56 cm, 14 inches; CS1600 40.64 cm, 16; CS1800 45.7 cm, 18; CS2000 50.8 cm, 20.
A trailing 10 instead of 00 marks a second version at the same size. CS1610 records the same 40.64 cm bar as the CS1600, and CS1810 the same 45.7 cm as the CS1800. The higher number is not a longer saw; it is a different specification of the same size. The database bears that out — the CS1810 records 22 m/s of chain speed and 2.5 kW, neither of which EGO publishes for the CS1800.
Nothing in the number is the battery, and that is the useful part. Every EGO chainsaw here shares one platform, recorded in the database as a 56V ARC Lithium pack against the CS2000. Where a DeWalt or a Craftsman designation has to be checked for which system it belongs to, an EGO designation only ever answers one question: how long is the bar.
