Tank size is a trade-off against weight, since fuel carried is weight carried, and manufacturers size the tank so that a full load lasts roughly one working session rather than as long as physically possible. It is usually paired deliberately with the **Oil Tank Capacity** so that both tanks empty at about the same time — if yours do not, the oiler setting is probably wrong. Mixed two-stroke fuel degrades in storage, so a large tank is no advantage if the saw sits unused for months; drain it rather than leaving stale mix in the carburettor.
