Weight (without bar and chain)
SpecificationThe mass of the powerhead alone in kilograms, excluding the guide bar, the chain and any fuel or oil. It is the standard figure manufacturers publish so that saws can be compared on a common basis.
This is not the weight you will actually carry. A bar, a chain and full tanks typically add a substantial amount, so the machine in your hands is always heavier than the spec sheet — check the figure and then mentally add the kit. Weight is the specification most people underrate when buying: fatigue is what causes poor technique late in the day, and a saw that is one kilogram lighter is noticeably easier to control at head height or on a ladder. Compare weight against Power Output rather than in isolation; the useful measure is power per kilogram, not either number alone.
