Frequently asked questions
What is the DeWalt DCCS623B best suited for?
DeWalt lists the DCCS623B's intended use as pruning. With a recommended bar length of only 20.32 cm, it's a compact, one-handed cordless saw for trimming branches and light yard work around the garden, not a tool for felling trees or cutting firewood, tasks that call for a longer bar and a heavier saw.
What bar length does the DeWalt DCCS623B use?
The DeWalt DCCS623B is built around a recommended bar length of 20.32 cm, short compared with typical chainsaws. That length keeps the saw light and easy to control one-handed, matching its pruning role, but it limits reach and cutting depth on anything thicker than a branch.
How much does the DeWalt DCCS623B weigh?
The DeWalt DCCS623B weighs 2.09 kg without bar and chain. Combined with its short 20.32 cm bar, that low weight is what makes one-handed pruning practical: a heavier saw tires the arm quickly when held out to reach branches overhead.
Is the DeWalt DCCS623B gas or battery powered?
DeWalt's data lists the DCCS623B's fuel type as battery, so it runs cordless rather than on a petrol/oil mix. That removes fuel mixing and pull-starting from a pruning job, though DeWalt's published specs for this model don't include battery capacity, voltage or runtime figures.
